Mezzanine Presents Findings to Canadian Cardiovascular Society

Edmonton, Alberta - October 24, 2009 – Mezzanine Consulting today presented the findings of the National Member Needs Assessment to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society is the national voice for cardiovascular specialists in Canada.  It represents over 1400 cardiovascular health professionals across Canada and provides professional development, advocacy and knowledge translation.

The Society regularly conducts a National Member Needs Assessment to identify the needs, priorities and perspectives of its members.  Mezzanine conducted the first national assessment in 2004.  Over 240 cardiovascular specialists participated and the findings became the basis for the CCS Strategic Plan.  Says Anne Ferguson, CEO of the CCS, “The Member Needs Assessment catalyzed the organization around a set of tangible priorities and enabled us to move in a consistent and focused direction.”

In 2009, Mezzanine again conducted the national assessment.  Over 400 cardiovascular practitioners were engaged through telephone interviews and an online survey, and provided their perspectives on major challenges facing the cardiovascular community, the opportunities for CCS to deliver programs and services that will meet their needs, and the performance of CCS in general.

  1. The study was sponsored by CCS and its industry partners, and the findings of the study will be shared with CCS members through the Canadian Journal of Cardiology.
